In recent years, Motherland has been strong and prosperous, and patriotic enthusiasm of the people has also increased significantly.

In hindsight, there has recently been similar news about "wearing a kimono suspected of breaking law". Incidents like this also often generate a lot of attention and discussion online.

On one hand, some believe that national feelings are above all, and no provocative actions should be shown. On other hand, there are also people who complain about this, believing that police law enforcement is inappropriate, and calling for patriotism to be a patriot.

I don't care what's right and what's wrong. However, behind little news is an extremely large number of ethnic groups and family-state disputes. It also forces us to rethink everything anew.

There is no doubt that Japanese aggressors committed countless crimes in China, too many to describe, and they will forever remain in annals of history and will be imprinted in hearts of generations of Chinese.

However, times have changed to this day, and war has already passed for almost 80 years. Why can't we even tolerate an item of clothing from an alien race?

What is starting point of our national feelings?

And even Japanese scholars wondered: There were also wolves and tigers that senselessly invaded China's land, but now why do we only remember Japanese?

Beginning with Opium War in 1840, next hundred years were the long humiliating vicissitudes of Chinese history, full of blood and tears and constantly ravaged by others.

The British fleet was first to break through gates of China. They first landed on Pearl River in Guangdong, and then went all way north, occupying Xiamen, blocking Yangtze River, until they reached Tianjin, and arrived at gates of Emperor Daoguang.

Daoguang is stupid and incompetent, country is poor and weak, and resistance he sends is vulnerable, so in end he can only sign contract, losing power and humiliating country.

Since then, great powers of different countries have been at war in turn, and one after another, drama "Western bandits beat up an old rich man in East" was played out.

From "Nanjing Treaty" to "Peking Treaty", from Sino-French War to Sino-French War to Sino-Japanese War, politically we have lost control of our own territory. Economically, we obediently pay huge indemnities, cooperate with trade, provide labor power.

At same time, colonization began to destroy our country, but Chinese cannot live on Chinese soil, and Chinese culture cannot be freely transmitted. The lives of ordinary people are in a desperate situation, and country and society are also on verge of collapse.

In first year of 20th century, Britain, France, USA, Russia, Italy, Australia, Russia and Japan joined forces to form Eight Nations Alliance. Under pretext of suppressing civil resistance organizations, they carried out an unprecedented "flashy robbery".

During war, West sent more than 100,000 soldiers, occupied Beijing and Tianjin, and plundered everywhere. "When faced with Chinese resistance, Fa will be executed immediately on spot. If there are houses organized, they will be burned and razed to ground.".

Rivers of blood flowed through streets, corpses lay on pillows, and women howled. The Chinese women, captured by coalition forces, rounded them up, ransacked them, and raped them at will.

The Old Summer Palace was burned, Summer Palace was plundered, countless treasures and curiosities of our country were plundered. When invading soldiers saw that money was open, they took it with their hands and destroyed everything that could not be carried away, Yongle Dadian and Siku Quanshu were burned.

After this brutal invasion, city of Beijing turned into a large graveyard with less than one tenth of every hundred households left. The dead are not buried, but wild dogs mindlessly eat them...

Compared to later history of Japanese aggression, Western bandits treated us with same dehumanization. It cannot be said that they are more "gentle" than Japanese.

So, with such humiliation and hatred, why do we forget first half, and remember Japanese only later?

First of all, this may be due to scale and duration of war. From 1931 to 1945, for fourteen years, most of land of our country was devastated by artillery fire of Japanese invaders. The time is long and scope is wide, which is much better than previous great power aggression.

During this period, counting from Songhu War to Japan's surrender at end, number of victims in our country according to statistics is more than 30 million, and cumulative number of abnormal deaths has reached at least 300 million.

Secondly, nature of war is different. European and American powers such as UK and US mostly fight for profit. For them, China is just a great treasury far away. They can capture it if they can, and they can trade and do business if they can't. They are not interested in local lands and culture.

As a neighboring country, Japan not only covets our resources and money, but also wants to occupy our land, assimilate immigrants, and dominate East Asia through national subjugation and genocide.

Third, means of aggression are outrageous. "Kill everyone, burn everyone, rob everyone" policy, massacre of 300,000 people in Nanjing after Battle of Songhu, bacteria in Northeast China that were "survived" Experiments, etc. ..., all cruel and vile deeds, Japanese army did everything it could.

All kinds of torture and mutilation destroyed homes wherever they went, tens of millions of compatriots died, even more people were displaced.

Finally, relation to history. This is also main culprit of Second World War. The Germans are well aware of their mistakes. They and their descendants have publicly apologized to all countries of world many times and acknowledged atrocities they committed.

The Japanese, who recklessly committed crimes on our land and killed countless innocent people, still have not apologized. They even try to tamper with their own textbooks, deny history, refuse to take responsibility, make "right" remarks from time to time, and pay homage to war criminals.

In addition to comfort women, left over from history and other issues, they always remind us of painful years and make us dare not forget hatred for a day.

The so-called "Business women know no hatred of submission, but still sing flowers in backyard across river".

The starting point of our national feelings is same as attitude towards foreign clothing. Western costumes usually refer to Western countries, but kimono is different, it refers specifically to Japan.

Even if there are many celebrities who wear kimonos on special occasions, they will never flaunt in public and show off.

Because all this will remind us of history of blood and tears during 14-year anti-Japanese war, as well as those tragic scenes in which we Chinese are bullied and mocked in Japanese costumes.

Studying wonderful culture of other countries will in no way affect our love for our own Motherland, on contrary, out of respect for a foreign culture, you cannot use it as an excuse to insult national feelings.

The moral basis of society is basis of history. Don't forget national humiliation and history because we are Chinese.
